The Little Bear

On a cold dark winter evening, the little bears lay down to sleep next to mom in their cave. During the night a storm approaches, whistling and howling. In the middle of the night one of the bears wakes. "mom, mom I hear something" the little bear said. Mom makes a little grunt "it's nothing dear, go back to sleep". The little bear snuggles up closer to mom and starts to fall back to sleep.

A strange howl comes through the wind. The little bear leaps to his feet, ears propped forward listening. Slowly the little bear starts to creep towards the opening of the cave. A wolf howls, sending chills up the little bear's spine. The little bear runs back to mom falling over his brother and sister. The little bear's brother and sister start to wake. The brother and sister are not happy being woken by the little bear. While looking at the little bear the brother and sister are struggled by how scared the little bear is. "what's wrong baby brother" his sister says. "there's something out there" the little bear replies. His brother and sister laugh at the little bear.

Suddenly the wind stops and all the little bears freeze. The little bear's brother and sister stay by mom while their brother wants to investigate. The little bear's sister yells "Get away from there!" BANG! Something hit the cave, hearing claws digging and growling coming from the entrance the little bear's brother and sister try eagerly to wake mom. The little bear snarls and snuffs at the sound. When suddenly a strange furry paw with claws reaches in for the little bear. The little bear quickly leaps forward and bites down at the furry paw. The wolf cries out in pain, angering the wolf more he howls to call the pack. Continuing to claw and dig at the opening, trying so desperately to get whatever had bit the wolf's paw.

The rest of the pack approaches to help their teammate. All the noise from the wolves clawing and growling at the entrance, the little bear turns back to look at his brother and sister. One of the wolves manages to make the hole big enough to squeeze their head into the cave. With the little bear's back turned he did not see the wolf's head in the cave. Barely able to see the wolf leans in to bite at whatever had bit the wounded paw. The little bear's brother yells "Look out!" Mom wakes up just in time to move the little bear from the jaws of one of the wolves. The mother bear with one swipe hits the wolf in the lower jaw wounding it badly. The wolf pulls their head crying in agony from the wound. The other wolves lick at the wound trying to stop the bleeding.

Mom backs up from the opening and with another swipe knocks down the barrier protecting her and her cubs. Running out in the open snuffing and snarling. The wolves turn quickly toward her in shock, their eyes widen in fear of her. She stands up on her two back feet and roars again the wolves. In fear, the wolves try to run away running into each other fleeing the scene, crying and howling. The injured wolf limps away whimpering. Mom turns toward the little bear roaring at him. "Now I said go to bed," says mom. "Yes mom" the little bear replies. He walks back to his brother and sister and snuggles down to the bed. "Bet you'll think twice again before not listening to mom," his sister says. The little bear rolls his eyes and grubble's at his sister. Mom nudges the little bear "what did I just say?!" The little bear's sister giggles as the little bear reply "sorry mom".

Always Listen To Mom!

The End
